GAS IS EXPENSIVE, GIRL! Let me tell you how to ease the pain at the pump with one of my favorite apps -ZIP.
I recently moved back to California from Georgia and since I didn’t have my own car, I needed to rent one. A 2019 Ford Fiesta was my choice since I didn’t need much space and I figured it’d help with fuel costs. Unfortunate for me, the size of the tank didn’t matter because gas prices were outrageous. For the lowest grade of gas I was looking at over $6 a gallon. My bank account was super low and the choice was pay for a full tank and have zero dollars in the bank or figure something out.
As a single mom with no job and other important things to do, I knew I couldn’t give my last dollar to fuel even though I needed it. Feeling defeated I knew something had to happen. That’s when I remembered that I could offset the cost a little bit with Zip. I’d be able to have some money and a full tank like a needed. Instantly, I felt a lot of stress ease of my shoulders as I paid $15 that day instead of the whole $60 it actually cost.
Zip formerly known as Quadpay is an app that helps you make purchases without paying the full amount upfront. Instead, your total cost is split into 4 payments each paid every two weeks. I’ve been using Zip to purchases clothes but recently, they’ve expanded to allow gas purchases are certain stations including Chevron.

How to Use Zip at the Gas Station
Once you’ve got the app downloaded and are ready to pump your gas, it’s really simple to get started. Open the app and choose pay in store. Then enter the amount you need but, don’t exceed your limit. Zip will then show you your payment plan and once you accept you’ll be able to use your virtual card through your apple wallet. It’s as simple as tapping to pay. Any portion that is left unused will be refunded to your Zip account and your payment plan with adjust reflecting your actual total.
