Hey friends! Today was so cool, even though I didn’t leave the house except to pick up Popeyes for dinner. What I did do was finally get around to creating something with the pumpkin Puttabutt and I choose the other day. We picked it up from Walmart because it said it was perfect for pumpkin pies.
Here’s the thing.
I thought it would be as easy as scooping out the guts and calling it a day but there’s a whole slew of stuff you have to do. For one, scooping out the seeds isn’t as easy as it sounds and Puttabutt definitely wasn’t much help. I think it kind of grossed her out. But, anyways we have to scoop it clean and then roast it, then peel the skin and then blend it up with water. It’s like a whole thing.
For today, all I managed to do was get the puree made but i haven’t fully decided what I’ll be making. I was thinking that I would try out these chocolate chip pumpkin cookies. The only thing is the puree is so bland. Maybe I added too much water. Truth is, I don’t care how they taste if they look good, are easy and my kids eat them it’s a win for me! But, we won’t know until tomorrow what I’ll end up making.
Activities with my kids always brighten my spirits. It took a few days for me to really get in the mindset and mood but, I was feeling good today. I didn’t even cry once! Well, until I was driving home from Popeyes. It’s just something about being alone in the car that really gets the waterworks flowing.
Today was also a good day for me because I got to express some of my creative juices by making some photos for my friend. She recently loss her oldest son. It’s so tragic, honestly. My heart truly pours out to her because losing a child has got to be so hard and he was so young! Wasn’t even a teenager yet, I bet he was so excited. His loving family nickname was Jojo. He was the oldest of all her kids. And man, it’s really such a shame.
She wanted me to edit a few photos and such for her and I really had a nice time making the edits and trying out new techniques and methods.
OH OH OH! On a side note, today was HOT in my city! The police were everywhere and stopping everyone. I even heard rumors that they were going door to door. That’s crazy but, also unconfirmed that they were going door to door but for real, they were like so many police, even police from out of town. I mean from cities MILES away! I mean like 50 plus miles away.
