Indecision will always cost you more than the wrong choice.
I heard that today in a Tiktok video where I was being eaten alive for procrastinating so hard. The truth is I am bad at doing the things I say I am -when I say I am. That’s part of the reason I started blogtober/vlogtober. I told myself if I could do this – write a blog or post a video everyday for a month -I could do anything. We’re 11 days in and I am so proud that I made it this far. Especially with everything going on.
We’re all presented with a choice, every morning we wake up and the decision is ours on what we’ll do. What will our mood be, what will we wear, where will we go, what will we do? Yesterday, I had plans for today. I was going to get out of my funk and put on a nice dress. I’d do some light grocery shopping and edit my vlogs/blogs because they’ve been pretty lackluster the last few days. I went to bed with big ideas but, when I woke up those big ideas went out the door.
I woke up at 5am and went back to sleep shortly after until close to 11am. The thing about me is, if I can’t get it started early, it likely won’t get started at all. So, I procrastinated and was indecisive on what I should do or could do with the time I had left in the day. Getting dressed felt like a chore, I wasn’t sure I wanted to go to teh store anymore. So, I ended up taking on the daunting task of straightening up my computer desk. It wasn’t a priority but it did need to be done. At some point I held onto my sisters urn and cried which Im sure you can guess means I wasn’t out of my funk.
Still, I did find some pride in getting things done I should have had finished last Monday. Things like at the very least putting my brothers mail in the envelope. I’m not sure why I procrastinated so hard on that. A lot of the things I’m failing to do have no excuse.
The point is, don’t procrastinate. If you have something you want to do, write it down. That’s the first step and the one I always seem to forget. Put your goals in order so you know their priority. Sometimes, trying to keep everything in our heads is the worse thing we can do. Allow yourself the loosen the reigns and put pen to paper to get things done. Let your brain rest. That’s my biggest issue; I always want to hold on and keep the thoughts in my head. But, really I don’t have to. It’s probably why now my mind feels overcrowded and froggy. But, I’m learning to let it go. I can’t hold onto my grief, my goals, and my responsibilities all in one place right now. I have take some of it out of my head.
Anyhoot, I wanted to share with you all that even if it wasn’t what I planned I did get something done today! Plus, I read a few chapters in my book. I can’t wait to finish it and get on here and tell you all about the blob. It’s an interesting story that makes me wonder, how did she come up with this idea?
